Two sectors for a single Star Post

ArchPack 2.5 is on the way
Hi,

I need a little help:

I have two sectors, each one has a different heights and textures, so that I can't merge them because I don't want to lose the aesthetics... Think of a street with a lane and sidewalks.

I want the player, upon stepping one of two sectors, activates a Star Post that is placed in one of sectors.

Thanks,

Erm... not good. :/

I even thought of it. But it will look strange to see 3 star posts too close each other.

Put a single starpost in a sector outside the level and merge it with the sectors on the sides. Obviously, have the starposts use the same flag. This should solve your problem, while only having one visible starpost.

I'll try it.

I had thought there was a linedef that could activate a star post remotely. I think your solution is actually doable

Thanks Jazz.

Heh... it would be funny: player dies and gets himself stuck in a 128x128 FU sector. Probably he'll go mad:

"HALP! GET ME OUTTA HERE NAO!"

Even so, I did some tests as Jazz suggested me. To kill myself, I placed a death pit near a star post; I killed myself about 30 times, I never spawned outside the level. I always spawned in last sector I stepped on inside the level.

Off-topic: Today I discovered my SRB2DB is hosting my WIP-map on MS without warning me of it. Yes, it's a little leak.

I got scared when I saw this on my screen:

Code:
Player 2 is in the game (node 1)

Funny, the last player who gets in my "unexpected server" fell in the trap I had prepared to kill myself.

EDIT: To be precise, SRB2 memorizes the point (X,Y) where you enter in Sector 993.

Applying this to an in-level sector triggers the special when the player enters anywhere in the sector.

If you die, you'll be respawned to that point. Then, you'll never be spawned outside the level, theoretically.
