a scar in time...
luis90, in the topic 'What is your biggest nightmare?', brought up the event of his dreams happening in real life.

This topic is for anyone who has dreamed something it came true, not just "I dreamed I had a DS...and I got one" but something you would not expect, something just strange.

For example, when I was in fourth grade, I dreamed that I was in my van, my mom was driving me to school. Someone was sitting next to me, but I did not know who, I only saw the person's hand, palm up, showing me something. On that person's palm were blades of grass. As I looked away from the person's hand, I looked outside the van window and saw a speed limit sign, "Speed Limit 35"

I had remembered this dream, not because it was extraordinary, but because it was strange. About a half a year later, I was on my way to school, a friend of mine needed a ride, so my mom agreed. We took the van. During the ride, my friend was playing with something, but I wasn't paying attention. He stretched out his hand, in it, were blades of grass. I looked up, and saw the sign "Speed Limit 35 MPH".

This has happened several more times, sometimes I would dream of a friend coming into a room, saying something followed by me sitting down. A few weeks or months later, the same thing that happened in my dream would happen in reality. My friend would say the same sentence, in the same room, at the same instant, and I would react the same way as I had in the dream.

I've discussed this with several of my friends, only one of them have had similar events. I would like to know if this happens to anyone else, and if anyone has any theories about what this could really be, please don't post anything useless, I'm really serious about this topic. It is said that dreams reflect things of past memories and of events you wish would occur, but what of dreams that foretell the events that are not things you desire?

I dreamed I was at school, and the fire bell rang. We went outside and my friend asked me if it was real. The same thing happened later. It was a drill.
I also think our mind could Have an untapped area, actualy sending out strange signal that forsee the future, but it is rarely tapped.

I think its the next step to human evolution.

Anyway, I've dreamed about getting bullied in horrible ways, the worst was getting stabbed in the chest.

And guess what?
The next month I started secondary school, and sure enough, I got bullied in EVERY way I dreamed. Even in the same location I dreamed (and I hadn't seen the school before the dreams.).

Then a bully eventualy stabbed me in the chest with a crafting knife!
O_O
I dont go to that school anymore...

Even weirder! The day before my mum pulled me out of school, I dreamed about a paradise school. It reminded me of GREEN.

Next day I was told I would be staring a new school for children with special needs, Manor GREEN College!!

I still have dreams that come true.
It keeps me awake at night! (sorry, I could help my self! XD)

HECK I even dreamed about a little girl getting kiddnapped and BOOM! Little Maddie's missing!

This is a bit different but I have had dreams were I'm told how to solve computer hardware issues and then I try them the next day and they work.

I remeber being in year 4 (or 4th grade) i had a dream were i was walking down this street, then, when i went to year 7, i had to go upper school, but the street i had to go down was the EXACT same place from my dream, and i've never been there before

A couple of occasions I've dreamt of a day, and it happened. Once when the whole "end of the world in 2000" going on back in '99. I dreamt one of the days... and it oddly enough happened the next year.

I was a little scared, because being only 8 at the time, I believed almost anything.

But, if dreams came true more often... not something that'd happen everyday, or actually be scientifically possible*, mind you, then I sure would be happy. Life would get that little more interesting.

*I seriously seriously seriously wish I were a naga, and that's no joke.

Well... one day I dreamed I would tell people on a forum strange stories about my life that made me more interesting to them and guess what:
It never happened!

Sorry, just kidding... I couldn't resist.

;-P

No seriously, a DEJA VU might be the experiences you are talking about. Something similar (to what you talked about) happened to me earlier, too. Except for the fact that it was much shorter and not that spectacular.

Well, you're not wrong- there have been countless documented instances of esoteric imagery in dreams pertaining to events that have taken place in our lives, or will take place in the future. This is how some people can (Supposedly) use dreams to predict the future.

There are even 'dream thesauri' that list common events and objects that appear in dreams and relate them to various auguries. I have one; apparently, while death is generally a good omen, eating chocolate in a dream is bad.

lol...wait!
When ever I eat chocolate in a dream I have an accident!!
MUST...ERRASE...CHOCOLATE FROM MEMORY!...

I once had this awful nightmare about being in an underground shelter, and there were bodies, lined up on shelves in plastic bags. Two months later, I was reading an article about British/American soldiers killing Iraqis or something and there was a picture of a small morgue with bodies. On shelves. Iin bags. I know that sounds fake but I'm serious.

I've had this happen to me before - well, at least I think I have. I don't usually remember my dreams at night, which is the weird part. If a familiar scene arises, however, I suddenly become aware that I've dreamed it before. This gets to the point where I can predict what will happen next in my mind. The scene itself has never really been significant, usually consisting of a 10-20 second conversation of sorts.

I know a small number of people who have also witnessed this unusual and disorienting phenomenon.

We don't mean, "I dreamt of getting a NES for my B-day and it happened!"

We mean, like...

Once I was sitting in class. Nothing special was happening. Just talking about algebraic equations. THEN I WOKE UP!!!

And A few (Insert time period here) later, it happened. WIERD...

Argh this hurts! This is nothing special!
Did nobody click at my hyperlink?

Déjà vu is the experience of feeling that one has witnessed or experienced a new situation previously...
The experience of déjà vu is usually accompanied by a compelling sense of familiarity, and also a sense of "eeriness", "strangeness", or "weirdness". The "previous" experience is most frequently attributed to a dream, although in some cases there is a firm sense that the experience "genuinely happened" in the past. Déjà vu has been described as "remembering the future." See spirit explanation below.

The experience of déjà vu seems to be very common; in formal studies 70% of people report having experienced it at least once. References to the experience of déjà vu are also found in literature of the past, indicating it is not a new phenomenon.

In particular, this may result from an overlap between the neurological systems responsible for short-term memory (events which are perceived as being in the present) and those responsible for long-term memory (events which are perceived as being in the past). In other words, the events would be stored into memory before the conscious part of the brain even receives the information and processes it. This would explain why one is, if it ever comes to mind, powerless trying to twist the outcome of the event in order to create a paradox. The delay is only of a few milliseconds, and besides, already happened at the time the conscious of the individual is experiencing it.

Another theory being explored is that of vision. As the theory suggests, one eye may record what is seen fractionally faster than the other, creating that "strong recollection" sensation upon the "same" scene being viewed milliseconds later by the opposite eye. However, this one fails to explain the phenomenon when other sensory inputs are involved, such as the auditive part, and especially the digital part. If one, for instance, experience déjà vu of someone slapping the fingers on his/her left hand, then the déjà vu feeling is certainly not due to his/her right hand to be late on the left one. Also, persons with only one eye still report experiencing deja vu or deja vecu. The global phenomenon must therefore be narrowed down to the brain itself (say, one hemisphere would be late compared to the other one).

I'd say Wikipedia's first explanation is more likely here. Effectively, you remember something as the past, as it happens in the present, sort of a glitch in the human mind. This would explain why you don't really remember the so called "dream" until it's already occured, and why details don't seem to come in until they occur as well.

One time I dreamed of moving to ameriaca.
It came true lol.

ok the the wierd one.
One time,I dreamed oftripping stairs trip over a rock and my friend moves away, the next day I tripped over the stairs and tripped over a rock and my friend said he was moving away.

Oddness, but- I had the dream that my Dad had to travel to California for repairs on a factory because a fire broke out in it and messed all the conveyors. In the dream, my head kinda' scrolled through images. Then Dad brought pictures home to show us the damage- each picture was directly shown to me in the same order as the dream, with no distinct differences with the dream and photos.

Well, they aren't dreams but if I am talking about a certain episode of like Family Guy or Futurama, that episode seems to come on that night. It's wierd and my friends have noticed it aswell.

There was this time in 6th grade where I was dreaming about this specific girl whom had which been a fantastic artist when it comes to drawing anime or anything Sonic related, and also very skinny.

I dreamed that I was in school, I was moving into my 7th period class which was right after my math class. I was arranging desks in the back of the classroom at my own free will and there I saw a board full of posters hanging up on the wall. I was just about to finish arranging the desks and the girl, along with the teacher walk into the classroom, the teacher is holding something that looks like a large posterboard and tri-stand (Or whatever you call it). We sit down and I look over to see that she's doing a little comic strip which I happen to like, and laugh at. Shortly after, the teacher tells us to take out our work and we begin working.

Strangely enough, when I get into 7th grade, the second day of school I found myself arranging desks at my own free will. I zone out for a second but then continue to what I was doing. Then the girl walks into the room along with the teacher holding what seems to be a large clipboard and a stand to put it on. I'm freaked out by this and become shy. For some reason, I built up enough courage to talk to the girl. I veer over at her artwork and complement her on it. I look away and turn back to see that she's drawing what seems to be a comic. Teacher tells us to do our work shortly after and we do our work.

I'm kind of freaked out myself by this. For one thing, I remembered this dream I had about 5 years ago just now. Secondly when I first met this girl, I was utterly shocked because I had somewhat of a crush on her.

Intruiging Flame. Unfortunately, I don't normally have dreams that predict the near future, but then again...anything can happen in the year 3000. My imagination probably predicts it( I hope. )
