The Richard Jacques Curse?

Now, I like Richard Jacques as much as the next guy, but it seems every time he does music for a Sonic game, that game doesn't do very well, either not selling as many copies as Sega hopes, or just being a bad game. Here's the list from Sonic Wiki Zone of every Sonic game that he has composed for, without the ones where they just reuse a song.
  • Sonic 3D Blast (1996; Sega Saturn and PC version)
  • Sonic R (1997)
  • Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood (2008)
  • Sonic and the Black Knight (2009)
  • Sonic Free Riders (2010)
  • Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric (2014)
  • Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystal (2014)
  • Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice (2016)
I first thought maybe they were just hiring him for their non-main games but really, at the time, they were the main games (minus Chronicles and Free Riders.). I'm not saying there's really a curse, or that he's the cause, I'm just saying that there's an interesting correlation between the two.
