The Jump Resistance Coomnumdrum

Chimes

Jesus Christ, you people are getting scary!
Alright, so if you've been following me for about 5 years now (in which in that case, congrats!), you'd know that at one point I had asked the question that literally no one asked:

Can you beat SRB2 with the least minimal amounts of jumping?

Of course, I had no idea that people HAVE done this before, but it was either undocumented or it was buried in the sea of misc. SRB2 media. Eventually, the thread died down and I eventually abandoned it especially after going through some personal life troubles. It now sits there frozen, with no one posting there for months, if not years.
BUT NOW...
THAT
HAS
CHANGED.
Introducing another iteration of the Jump Challenge thread, this time focused on 2.2 and anything beyond (if STJR finishes 2.3)!
Welcome to The Jump Resistance Coomnumdrum!

Icannotspellpleasedonotbeltmeghostsofoldguard.

The rules are very simple. Just... don't jump. Or at least, try not to jump and ONLY jump if necessary. The very button that you use to jump is not necessarily restricted, but you're free to not use that button at all (and in turn, shield abilities). That's it. There are four categories:
  1. 2.2 Jumpless (shield%)
  2. 2.2 Jumpless (no shield%)
  3. 2.3 Jumpless (shield%) IMPOSSIBLE CURRENTLY
  4. 2.3 Jumpless (no shield%) IMPOSSIBLE CURRENTLY
Of course, 2.3 hasn't come out yet, so don't... don't do it until 2.3 actually comes out. I will edit this once 2.3 actually comes out.

In The Jump Resistance Coomnumdrum (or just TJRC), you're encouraged to use the level in conventional/unconventional means, and exploit the fact that getting hit by enemies will boost you up a bit. Any character is welcome, but they come with their own little quirks and challenges. 2.2 is different than my old thread in the special case that 2.2 really looooooooooves slopes for Sonic and his posse to roll around and launch out of. In many ways, the level geometry will help you by just... running up or spin-dashing off of them.

Without further ado, here comes a list of all of the stages that I have currently tested out (WILL UPDATE WITH OTHER RESULTS, ATTEMPTS OF OTHER METHODS IS VERY MUCH WELCOME)! Let's go!:

Sonic:
GFZ1 - 0xJump. Possible. You just gotta get up a few gaps with the Crawlas knocking you back.
GFZ2 - 0xJump. Possible. With a very well positioned execution involving springs and spindashing, you can bypass most of the later half's giant gaps of jumps and use the slope near the middle of the outdoor area.
GFZ3 - 0xJump. Possible. You have to intentionally have Eggman burn you so you get launched up the ledge and immediately spindash his ass. Ironically, his "pinch phase" makes attacking him without jumping painfully easy.
THZ1 - 0xJump is not possible. There are various complications. I have not finished routing the rest of THZ1, tho
THZ2 and onwards - HAVE NOT TESTED. WILL EDIT LATER
Tails:
GFZ1 and onwards - HAVE NOT TESTED. WILL EDIT LATER

Knuckles:
GFZ1 and onwards - HAVE NOT TESTED. WILL EDIT LATER

Amy:
GFZ1 - 0xJump. Possible, use the same strat Sonic uses with Amy.
GFZ2 - 0xJump. Possible. Similar in principle with Sonic's route, by using the springs and some well-timed hammering, you can make your way through Amy's path and fly through the Amy spike path with some careful maneuvering to not nick the cliff!
GFZ3 and onwards - HAVE NOT TESTED. WILL EDIT LATER

Metal Sonic:
GFZ1 and onwards - HAVE NOT TESTED. WILL EDIT LATER

Fang:
GFZ1 and onwards - HAVE NOT TESTED. WILL EDIT LATER

Sonic and Tails:
GFZ1 and onwards - HAVE NOT TESTED. WILL EDIT LATER

Feel free to upload your own results here in either replay format, Imgur gifs, YouTube videos, or anywhere else. Have fun with what may or may not be torture!

with love, pobert-eii

Well this ain't something you normally see everyday.

Amazing how Amy is quite versatile in this stage. Anyhow, here's the video of a new jumpless update.

I've managed to complete GFZ2 with every character, i'll put files later on, i have to record them.
