It looks like it would usually blend in too easily with most ground textures.

Idea: Why don't you try randomizing it's distance each time you step on it (IE: Step on it one time, sends you little distance. Go on it again, go super far, etc.). A random spring like that would be cool.

Otherwise, neat.

Make it orange. That might help with the ground-blendy stuff.

Well the blending in could be a good thing. You could be making an area where you want to put an emerald token in. What if you made a green and orange spring. You could also make a white or black one that sends you up at random.
