This packs got Professor Fizzwizze!? Man, I remember that game when I was a child, it took me a bit to recognize the name and a little search up.
Also BTW, the sprites you made for the pack is gorgeous! I'm gonna guess that you used model and pre-rendered then or did you draw them by hand?
First of all, thanks so much for complimenting how the pack looks! As stated in the (admittedly dense) schpiel at the top of this resource's MB page, all the racers in this pack are pre-rendered from rigs I created myself and shaded using a family of fairly complicated Blender shader/compositor nodes. These nodes get me like 90% of the way there, but then the other 10% is a mix of altering the rigs to read better at such a small render resolution (for example making their proportions bobbleheaded) and then maybe an hour or two going over every output frame and cleaning up details inevitably lost in the render process (most commonly specific facial expressions). A good rig will take me about 15 to 20 hours of work
minimum then actually producing the racer much less at maybe 3 or 4 hours
maximum. Regardless, I'm glad you think the racers are quality, my overall goal is to shoot for a style as close to the base game as possible with my limited 2D art skills though I conceded from the very beginning of the project that hand-drawn as opposed to pre-rendered
will always be superior but it doesn't mean I can't try my best all the same.
Second of all, yep, the pack
does indeed have Fizzwizzle! A childhood favourite of mine too so much to the extent that I found some obscure physical releases and bought them for my collection. You can see a high quality render of the rig in the YouTube thumbnails for the video showcases on my YouTube channel that go along with every racer added to this pack. For Fizzwizzle, whilst I made the rig almost a year ago now and would do one or two things differently (most notably the hair rendering system), overall I'm still pretty proud of how it came out!
Have fun with the pack! Expect a new update soon, I have several racers ready to launch that depend on features of DRRR not yet easily accessible to the public so they're on the backburner but until then there's even more to come : )
