Just a lil update, I've submitted this mod to the submissions! Just posting this here since it's been a couple days (no rush to the judges ofc), and I'm hoping this will be given to y'all soon! Not too much has changed between the last post and now, other than some more refinement, such as more effects not being applied in scenarios where they shouldn't (such as ring effects in battle mode, and certain universal effects not applying in certain circumstances), and other such stuff. The total effect count for v1.0 will be 54 unique effects, and 11 universal effects! For comparison, the public playtest had 46 effects, and 6 universal effects.
I've also extended the modding capabilities of this, mainly to account for a tourney system that someone else made, so you should be able to successfully read all the variables this mod utilizes for any related purposes like that! I've also made it so you can add your own universal effects as well, but this hasn't been thoroughly tested, so... your mileage may vary!
The first release doesn't have every feature I want, I just figured this v1.0 is a great place to finally wrap up what I have, and give it to y'all to finally play a more polished version since the public playtest. I'll issue a series of updates over the course of this month to fix up any issues that people run into, and add a few more features that I've been meaning to do. It should be at feature parity w/ my other chaos mods (outside of auto-saving settings, and a couple other missing settings) by this point.
As for my future projects, well... I was planning on making custom courses, but High Voltage Ring is completely busted on Linux for unknown reasons, so that's not gonna happen right now, til someone fixes that. Something that's definitely gonna be done is to port this mod back to SRB2, since all these changes (and new effects) would be definitely beneficial to SRB2, especially for netplay. It'll just be issued as another update to SRB2: Chaotic Edition, since it's not like this fundamentally changes everything. Another thing I plan on doing is yet another revamp of MMT, if only because I've learned a lot in rewriting the chaos script for this, especially in the many things I shouldn't do to make sure netgames play right. And maybe since my course creation abilities can't be utilized right now, I might work on Shifting Seasons Zone again. I did have a planned UDMF update of this level made right around when UDMF support was being finalized, but I've since lost the files to that, so... gotta do that all over again. This'll at least give me the chance to re-familiarize myself with making levels, since... sheesh it's been nearly 4 years since I made that? Time flies, man.
With all that said, hope y'all enjoy when the submission finally gets approved! There'll be a release trailer that accompanies this release, and it'll show off The Big Surprise I teased about in the post before!
