Super Mario Forever

Has anyone played it? If so how far did you get? I myself can only make it to the first scrolling platform in World 1-1. Not even abusing savestates can get me any further.


For anyone who dosen't know, Super Mario Forever (AKA Hardest Super Mario Bros.) is an incredibly difficult mod for the NES Super Mario Bros. World 1-1 alone involves ridiculous jumps that can only be made by using that wierd "jump higher right after you land" thing, while running. I would provide a download link, but I don't feel like hosting the IPS patch, and I don't want to break the law by distributing a ROM.

I think we're thinking of a different thing here. The one I'm talking about is a ROM hack, that's a standalone EXE (I think)

No, this is a different Mario Forever. Generally speaking, tacking "Forever" onto "Mario" isn't the most creative thing ever, so it's only expected that there be more than one product trying to use that name.

Buziol Games makes much better things than a ROM hack.

Buziol Games also has yet to learn how to not use timer events in their movement engines. They also show inconsistency by making the actual game in MMF, and the level editor in Game Maker 6+ (I'd think it'd be the other way around, if anything).
