An idea for Sonic's new double jump ability: Air Dash. Similar to the thok, this ability thrusts Sonic in the direction he's facing, but instead of being an instantaneous burst of speed the effect lasts for several seconds (2) and also thrusts Sonic somewhat upwards, or if you are currently falling very fast transfers a little of your vertical momentum into horizontal momentum to boost your horizontal distance coverage a bit. During the dash the player can also freely steer Sonic horizontally in midair, allowing more easy access to changing direction for the duration of the dash. When the dash ends, momentum continues in the direction Sonic is currently moving but he uncurls.

Use cases:
-Sharp turns. Unlike the thok which functions somewhat like a gun with which you aim and then fire, you can do things in the opposite order here if you need to allowing you to dramatically change the direction you are moving in after activating the ability to course correct as needed or to get around tight corners without losing speed. You can even completely do a 180 and turn back to the direction you came from without losing any speed.
-Double Jump. Not as strong as a full double jump, but useful for crossing large gaps or saving yourself if you accidentally fly off an edge.

This ability would function as a boost to Sonic's mobility in a beginner friendly way without giving him a super powerful verticality tool, and would also fit with Sonic's character. Because it would extend the time Sonic spends in the air somewhat when used, it would also be less spammable than the thok as the time it takes to reach the ground again would effectively function as a cooldown. The additional control provided to the player for several seconds would hopefully also make it feel less unwieldy to new players as if they use it only to realize that doing so was a mistake they have a window of opportunity to course correct back to safety before the dash ends and they have to commit to the new direction. Uncurling at the end of the dash would also provide incentive to be careful when using it due to it leaving you vulnerable to enemy contact, hopefully acting as a mechanic that promotes increases to player skill over time as they learn to time it effectively.

What is sonic's sprite height in Fracunits? I know that sonic is an meter tall but i wanna know how many Fracunits in an meter (i saw that sonic's top speed 64 km/h but using Inferno's Formula is 94.5 km/h? (if not i think sonic's top speed is 84 km/h)

a suggestion for what STJr could do for v2.2s 5th anniversary -
- it is recommended that you read the description of the video and the pinned comment.

I'm not sure if this has been discussed before, but perhaps you can change how we create/join mulitplayer games? Instead of us having to port forward, maybe It can be like a "peer to peer" connection. I'm not sure if that is possible, but just food for thought.

A sneak peek at SRB2 2.3 and perhaps even a playable build (for feedback purposes) would be nice, especially since 2.2 development is set to wind down after 2.2.14 releases.

Though it is up to Sonic Team Jr. as to whether they want to keep it all under wraps still (outside of what has been officially shared).

make the metal sonic boss fight easier (idk if i just suck or not, but metal sonic's boss fight is harder than brak eggman in my opinion)
Here's a strategy that might make things easier for you:
Get as many hits as you can early on by really getting into Metal's face. It might take some practice to get him to become vulnerable multiple times in a row. When he goes up into the air and shoots at you, keep moving but keep an eye on the particle effects that appear around him, as they choreograph which pattern he's going to shoot you with, giving you a chance to prepare for it. When you get enough hits in, he'll start dashing at you instead. Stick to one corner and simply jump when necessary when he gets close until he starts floating normally again, giving you a chance to get in his face to get him vulnerable and then hit him. Do this a few times and you'll finally win, but be cautious that he gets more aggressive after every hit you get in on him.

thanks, but i already do all the things except for sticking to a corner and jumping and he's still harder than the lost levels

I've got this idea I'm really excited about for Fang the Sniper. I've always liked him a lot, but his popgun was always kinda lame to me, like it doesn't really fit his character or his aura that well. I mean, I appreciate that he's supposed to be this funny, clumsy, slapstick character, but there's also this cool, sharp side to him where he's trying to be a bit threatening and dangerous, right? So, I was thinking, what if instead of the popgun, he used that pistol from his concept art (image attached)? And since real bullets might not fit SRB2's style, how about his gun shoots energy blasts, like Jetty-Syn-Gunner in Egg Rock? But maybe whitish-blue instead of red, to keep things distinct? I think between his whole look and his Marvelous Queen in Triple Trouble, a blaster that looks close to a real gun is very much in line with the whole sci-fi cowboy theme he has going on. I feel like this could really bring out that other side of him, making him both strongly comic relief but a bit more of a real threat too or at least, someone who really wants to be seen that way. What do you guys think? I think it would be awesome to see this in 2.3!
(I posted this first in perhaps the wrong thread, so I thought I'd repost it here.)

Okay, but hear me out.
The popgun has always been a part of Fang. ESPECIALLY in comics. But I respect your ideas very highly!
Also, Marvelous Queen as his Super Form would be peak.

I didn't know that concept art existed and I really wish he kept that gun in later depictions of him.
If you had to ask me, Fang should also have a more mobile playstyle. I've never liked how the tail bounce was hard to work with and how you have to go to a complete standstill to shoot his gun.

Maybe doing something like making his gun shoot a guided missile, which has the same function as the lock-on thing he currently has going on, but without forcing him to face his target which would make it easier for him to shoot his gun while in motion or something.

I also feel like as a character, Fang should be similar to Harry from the Wet/Sticky Bandits. (which are from the first two Home Alone movies, if you're unaware.)
I.E. Clumsy and dim-witted, but still highly dangerous and overall a person you do not want to mess with.

On an unrelated note: I think Joe Pesci would even make a good Fang voice actor.
