Suggestions for making a Nights character.

Hi! I'm trying to make a character add-on that features Nights from Nights into dreams,however I am new to the whole modding and pixel art scene. If anybody could please give me advice on what programs to use, what abilitys should Nights have, or anything at all that I need to know for modding and pixel art, please let me know!

Hi! Welcome to the modding scene. It is generally not recommended that you start with a character since they are by far the most difficult and time-consuming type of mod to create, but here's some tips.

Any program with a pixel tool will work, but the preferred program of choice for most sprite artists is Aseprite. It's free if you compile it.

To mod SRB2 itself, you will need a program called SLADE. This is a Doom lump editor that lets you create and modify WAD/PK3 files.
