SRB2K With Low Internet

I really want to play SRB2K, but whenever i tried to play, is always with a insanely high ping, so is there a way to lower the ping like in other multiplayer games? or is SRB2K a game with no way to lower the ping, answer me SRB2 Message Board!

Choose a server closer from your location(early in the server browser with ping sorting).
This is the only way to reduce the ping outside of changing internet
