SRB2 THEME, WHAT IS IT?

I know the srb2 is a remix or a Sonic Cd beta song or something like that but what is it?!?!?
I can't find it at all!

It's base off of a Sonic & Knuckles theme remix Sega released on a CD.

Yes, the SRB2 theme is from Virtual Sonic. We actually didn't know about it until about 2 years later, hahaha. David Bulmer never told us.

I have the Virtual Sonic album downloaded. It sounds very similar. There's another theme that piqued my interest though. The intro music where it should the scenario between Dr. Robotnik harnessing the energy of that space rock. It sounds an awful lot like the track "Sonic Metropolis" from the Sonic Arcade album. Is it from there? If it's not them I'm surprised because I would say so.
