Whenever I try to join a multiplayergame, my game crashes and i get an error. Is there a fix for this? Thanks in advance!

What kind of error do you get? We can't do anything to help you if you don't specify the error you're getting when joining a server.

The Mac version has never been able to join netgames. I think this is like a decade-long standing issue.
