[SRB2 2.2.1] Gamepad Issues

Okay, so I went to use my USB GameCube controller, and when I go to choose this gamepad, it says that it's used by another player. But here's the thing: it isn't. How do I fix this?

First of all update your game, second of all it's horrible at doing that for anything that isn't a ps4 controller, try joy to key in that case.
