Seriously, though, that's awesome. I think if the engineers are confident that a piece of foam the size of a bread crust won't hinder anything (as compared to the 1-pound monster that broke off of Columbia), the crew will probably be okay.

I don't really know why their mission was named "Discovery." I think their mission was to look for new things in space that wasn't been found yet.

No, the shuttle is named "Discovery". The mission is named "STS-121".

According to Wikipedia, this mission is apparently a "Return to Flight" test, trying out new safety and repair techniques after Columbia's perishment.
