Right now I am working on a large Map replacement Wad for SRB2. Which will feature the original Sonic 1 levals in 3D and a bunch of bonus levels too. But I need some one to put textures,music,skys, etc. into Wad files for me. Would anyone be interesed in the job??
 
You cannot have 2D levels in 3D. Seriously, people, it doesn't work like that.

You can theme them around the old 2D levels, but they're not the same levels. Nor, of course, does this guarantee that they're any good.
 
Thats not what I ment. There themed after the old Sonic 1 Genesis levels not reprodutions. It would not be as much fun playing the original levels in 3d with there same leval structure.
 
You cannot make "the original Sonic 1 levals in 3D and a bunch of bonus levels too" when you haven't even released a single level at all.

Start with something a little less ambitious. Like, make a match map and enter it in the contest. I guarantee you this Sonic 1 adaptation thing will not get finished unless you first have a lot more experience, and think about the levels one at a time.

Huh.. interesting.. do the walls from the first picture repeat in the current version?
 
Cool, I like the looks of the Green Hill screenshot. I don't doubt you have skills, but will you still care about this project in a month? That's my point. Maybe make a finished Green Hill and then see if you still want to do all the other maps.

As for the wall textures repeating, I think you might be able to fix it with fake floors instead, which would be at a significant speed/framerate improvement. Look into that possibility.
 
Ok I will finish GHZ 1 then see If I want to continue the project. I will try the Fake Floor thing, it looks easy to do. I still need someone to put textures and skys into wad files for me.
 
That's my project after LumpMod 0.3 (currently in the works) is finished, to make an easy GUI type thing for adding textures and flats. (Which implies it will add skies too, since they're stored as textures.)
 
I'd also like a GUI editor for SOCs...

I actually made most of the GUI of it, it just needs code. 8)
 
I don't like the way every bridge has a waterfall under it... Yes, it's GHZ-ish, but it's too thick... And how will you get the fish to jump that hight? Solid invisible FOFs? :? And yes, I have been wanting to attempt a good 2D-type GHZ map that follows GHZ as closely as SRB2 can possably muster, but have "lost my mojo" for remakes since...
 
Didn't someone make a checkered grass texture a while back? It would add more variety to the grass in your level.
 
Only... The charecter would be affected if he jumped toward the fish.

*Sonic smashes it. He is then suddenly propelled into the sky*

You could just put the robofish there as a decoration and put a Invisible solid FOF.. eh, forget it..

Changing the height they can jump is the only way :P
