Sonic items/wear "backstory"?

Well, these doubts've been buzzing on my head for quite some time. Better read some of the conclusions below for better understanding:

Sonic's Shoes:

While in the series, he is known as the "world's fastest hedgehog", it is never made clear if the speed comes from himself or from the shoes our blue hero wears, then comes the doubt, "Could Sonic's shoes have been designed by Eggman himself?".

The design they use is extremely similar to the one on Eggman's coat (Mainly red, with white belts, and golden "clips"), also, let's remember that the "Speed Shoes" icon is the same as the ones Sonic uses, so it could also mean that Sonic's speed comes from his feet wear.

(Ps: I'm aware the concept design of the shoes was based on Michael Jackson's clothing, but that doesn't mean this isn't a possibility)

Shadow's Rings:

It's been very few the ocations in wich Shadow the Hedgehog has actually taken off the rings he has on his wrists and feet (Actually, only 2, in Sonic the Hedgehog 2006, and Sonic X) the thing is, he gets to unleash his full power whenever he does that, but why restrain himself from his full potential?

Let's remember there was a terrible incident in the Space Colony Ark 50 years ago, in wich the GUN attacked the colony and the Artifial Chaos broke free, but what caused this? It is never clear if Shadow got the rings before or after the incident, but he certainly doesn't like to be free from them for extended periods of time.

WHAT is Shadow?:

Sonic Heroes and Shadow the Hedgehog were both games that left more than enough questions without answer about Shadow's existence, after he felt back to Earth in Sonic Adventure 2 and everyone thought him dead, Eggman found the body and made clones out of him, however, in one of the stories in StH, Eggman claims that Shadow (the one you play with) is a clone, but as Omega said, "the original must be somewhere", also, when Shadow was waken up again in Sonic Heroes, he was in a separate room, but at the same time, there was also a clone that was separated from others (inside of the Egg Albatross).

You may say "but this one is stronger", true, but both Gamma and Omega were robots too, and they both possessed "free will".

It is perhaps meant to be a "whatever the player thinks he is", but I'm not much a fan of those mysteries.

Item Boxes:

Whoever played the original Sonic Adventure 2 for Dreamcast most likeley noticed the bunch of advertising that was made for fictional and real corporations (Sonic Team, SOAP, GUN, Nights Casino) but specially, the Item Boxes, "You can touch the future" was what most posters said, therefore meaning that the items you obtain are suppoused to be designed by a company, so what's their true purpose? It's not merely an "ilogical extra".

Topic:

So if you have your thoughts on these "backstory" theories, have anything extra to add, know something about them, or perhaps a counter-argument to the ones previously shown, post them here.

In AoSTH, Sonic takes off his shoes and runs just as fast without them. The problem is that running at high speeds without shoes causes burnt marks all over his feet.

And the item boxes, they've changed alot since Sonic 1, are they the same thing?

Like:
Sonic 1 - 3D Blast: TVs

Sonic Adventure - future: Meh, I don't really know about these. What the hell are they even made of? Metal and Glass?

Someone feel free to correct me on any of these statements.

Do Shadow's upgrades in Sonic Adventure 2 break the time continuum? After all, you can view flashback cutscenes where he does not have them, then once you obtain them, they appear in those cutscenes! Are the items mysteriously warping backwards in time? Or is Shadow just trippin' mad cows here?

Can't you break item boxes in Adventure 2 just by touching them, and without being in some sort of offensive maneuver like you have to be in nearly every other game? If so, than the "You can touch the future" ad is perhaps an indirect reference to that.

Also, what's up with Sonic Heroes's and Sonic Rush's bizarre 3-sided prism monitors? They're switched back to their Adventure design in subsequent games.

The NiGHTS Casino might relate to Sonic Pinball Party, or perhaps even the NiGHTS pinball themed stage in Casinopolis in Sonic Adventure, since the Sonic-styled pinball machine had slots, and the NiGHTS-themed stage had poker, I'd assume they decided to spin off of that perhaps.

EDIT: There's also cans of Chaos Cola in that old SRB2 City map, if anyone remembers.

Oh geez, don't forget about Chaos Cola! Fans have made loads on that. That was a fictional Advertisement too.

Did you, by chance, actually beat StH, or even play through a decent portion? Pretty much all of the questions about Shadow's origin are answered in that.

I'm pretty sure the monitors in Sonic Adventure 2 are made out of, like, pure bubbles or something, since you break them just by touching them. Also, since there are ads in SA2 that say "Spring Festival" on them, Springs might be manufactured, too.
