How do you beat this exactly? I have no clue what I'm even supposed to be doing in this unlockable.

Jump into Super Sonic, get some rings, explode the thingie near the end using said rings..

Haven't you ever heard of NiGHTS? :/

Heard of it, never played it.
You need the rings you get as Super Sonic to bust the capsule (80, if I recall correctly) The rest is all just fun.

NiGHTS is a Sega Saturn game. You're not going to get it except through ISOs. *beaten*

Please. NiGHTS is dirt cheap for the Saturn, and very common with and without the special pad.

It was a circular analogue pad (which, suprisingly enough, was released just after the N64 debuted with an anologue pad :| )

Actually I thought the DC pad was more comfy myself. That analog "nub" didn't really do it for me; I prefer actual sticks. Still has better grip than a PlayStation controller, though.

The 2D pad - 2nd Version/JPN Version, of course - is the best 2D pad ever, though.
