For those who remember the Sonic Generations game I was working on a while back (You can see it here), well, I'm working on it again, but from scratch.

The truth is, I have higher expectations for this project and I plan to make a demo version, like the original Sonic Generations, which will have two levels (Classic and Modern Green Hills).

I am not surprised, Sonic Generations was and still is one of the best received 3D Sonic games since the Sonic Adventure series for the Dreamcast (with smartly designed levels that do not allow gimmicks to become a make-or-break moment).

Other games such as Sonic Unleashed had their highlights as well, but many people continue to see Generations as the closest to being a genuine spiritual successor to the Adventure Series and in sticking to what worked.

If you're referring to SRB2 Generations, then they're not the same.

SRB2 Generations is a mod that modifies the second acts of SRB2 and turns them into levels created for modern Sonic, while Sonic Generations in SRB2 (the one I'm creating) recreates the classic and modern levels of the original Sonic Generations as faithfully as possible (I should clarify that I'm creating these two levels using the free demo available on Steam and YouTube videos xd). Cheers! :D

Also for the record, I understand what you're saying, I just think it's funny that a similar sort of thing is happening twice.

Not at all, don't cancel it just because someone else is doing it; keep doing it, chase your dreams, don't let anything stop you, not even someone else.

Just keep doing it. I'm just some random guy who's been making maps for a year and a half; maybe you're even better than me, who knows? ;)

Sorry if I disappoint you, but oh well.

This mod won't have a story; it will just be a level pack WITHOUT BOSSES. Although there's a small chance I might include bosses and a story, only if those who want to help me are GOD-level programmers in SRB2 (honestly, I doubt it xd). I'm doing this so the bosses aren't all Eggmans, Fangs, and Metal Sonics, and so the final boss isn't Brak Eggman.

You can look up the Green Hill background from Generations, and what's moving in the background might be background platforms, just an idea.

I might keep that in mind for the future.
 
Basically the same as you, haha. I'll also be releasing a demo version like in the original Generations, with both classic and modern Green Hills. I mentioned it at the beginning of the forum.
