@JanaSol I almost forgot, while this Addon is not Open Assets you should expect for people to include the Lua file in their own maps to make this work at all.
I would recommend considering Open Assets, or choosing a Copyleft license for the GitHub page.
 
Yeah, I wasnt exactly sure how to classify this, as I want to have it adhere to "best practices" in keeping it a unified library, which is why i figured the "Ask Me" modification was the best classification. Cuz any and all map mods should be able to load with different versions of SolCam and not break each other. If there is a better way to classify that (noting i did clarify this position at the top of the description now), please inform me. Its not me wanting to cut it off from modification, its more of me wanting to ensure compatibility.

Honestly just including a license with your addon would work, like if you wanted to go with GPL then you can use that one.

Major Patch 1.1

Heya! So I started work on a refactor for version 2.0 of SolCam only to find out the "Live Update" feature I programmed in to ensure the most recent version of the library would run regardless of load order was broken and didn't work, so I fixed it! This may not look like a major patch, but it is a REQUIRED one, I DO NOT want to see any 1.0 SolCams in any map, you better drop this in instead or I will be angry at you >:(

solcam, the modern items like those qte ramps, gs rails, bruh 2025 is the year of the modern sonic level design revolution

Oh wow, a lot has been changed this update! Lets go over it!
  • Added support for Lua function calls! You can now call SolCam from a lua script too!
  • Added an all new camera mode that can entirely replace the old alternate viewpoint, with a fixed angle and tilt, use this if you want to keep the camera from following the player for cut away views
  • updated the main page documentation (if it's not showing up here, its on the github already)

Is there a way someone could make a demonstration map for this?
I am having trouble understanding how to use it without an example to pick apart. 😅
