I don't do much other than occasionally try to make some levels for srb2. And here I guess I'll be posting gifs of what I'm working on so at least someone can see it and know I tried. I also go into... a LOT of detail. I hope I'm doing this editing post thing right!
First up, my most recent work;
Aquatic Phobiopolis Zone
Status: Like less than 5% complete
This zone is meant to take place in two sections; one being an above-water/oil base which can be accessed by those blue towers, and the other section being the drowned city seen in the skybox of this gif (Said Gif being the only actual part I've done gameplay-wise, the intro section)
The sub-gimmick is currently intended to be a lack of air-bubbles- you have to go inbetween each water tower/pipe/elevator if you want air, meaning the actual city part would be without any air-bubbles aside from the towers, forcing you to act fast to get to the next one before your air runs out.
The major gimmick comes from the fact that, in the plan I have, you can use the blue towers/pipes/elevators to rocket up into a base over the water/oil, where you'd be able to head to other pipes/towers/elevators to head back down into the city, with the end-goal being to get to the big gray building at the back of the city. Some towers may be broken and force you to platform up, while some towers may only contain goodies rather than being a direct way forward. But all towers would hopefully have something waiting at the top if this map gets completed. This was going to be my entry into the OLDC, but as it stands it'll either be a different level idea I have, or I won't enter at all.
Second, and last(?) is my bigger project; a upgrade of my map entered into Kimokawaii that nobody asked for...
Wasted Wayward: Expanded
Featuring, hopefully, 3 acts at a minimum, with acts 1 and 2 being hopefully different design philosophies. This is much less a remake as much as it is making the stage as I originally envisioned it, before I had enough understanding of Zonebuilder to do anything much more.
Act 1: Wayward Town:
Status: 10-15% complete (May be scrapped, have not touched in multiple months)
What a beautiful- wait, where's the town!?
Act 1 takes place in a town named- well, Wayward Town. The town is currently being attacked by Fang, who's currently inside the giant casino building at the end. The plan is that you can either go straight for him, or explore the town for easter eggs and goodies for better score, lives, or maybe even a Chaos Emerald if you're lucky...
Feelin' lucky Mr Big Time Gambler!?
But it all must come to action eventually- The casino will, hopefully, be bigger and have more visual flare to it in the final version, but it will be where you first encounter fang. beat him, and chase him down to the next act.
Act 2: Wasted Wayward
Status: Roughly 80% complete in gameplay design.
Give me a drink, bar-ten-dur!
Wasted Wayward is mostly the same as it's original counterpart, with mostly touch-ups and thing location changes here and there- but as you see here, it has a new opening spot that is basically done, save for touch-ups. But of course, when you get past that...
In with the- o-old?
It's still basically the same level, despite some obvious touch-ups here to make it look nicer or flow just a smidge better.
That wasn't there before...
There's even some attempts to make use of new badniks currently, though they're heavily subject to change if it's finished.
Whew, what a view!
The Skybox is still heavily WIP, but this section now has a good view of it to give some much needed visual flare.
But of course, you all probably would rather see what's new, yea? Well... Maybe 'see' isn't the best wording for this first example of the new;
Follow the path, then the light...
Follow the flame-flowers up a dark, broken down mineshaft and escape to the end...
And finally, a bit of what I have currently WIP'ed near the end, to show where I last left off.
RAAAAAAAAAMPS
I only really need to finish up connecting certain sections of the level, and then I should be able to move onto re-decorating and touching up the gameplay flow.
Act 3: Wayward Temple VS Fang
Status: Roughly 50-65% complete. Need to finish decorating and possibly double-check the arena to improve it.
Get back here, you cowardly Sharpshooter!
Pretty self explanatory; a boss fight in front of a desert temple that has been overly disgraced with slime and pipes. Maybe one day I'll make a level inside it...?
