Eternity in an hour
It's not really much of a secret that the story/lore in Sonic games across the decades is an inconsistent mess. With this in mind, would it be worthwhile for SEGA to scrub the slate clean and start over with a new team of writers?
Personally, I'd be in favor of it. It would be a perfect chance to rebrand Sonic into one unified character again, and combine the best gameplay aspects of all the 3D games into one refined style with what has worked, what hasn't worked, and why in mind. The characters could be redefined into consistent personality types with more rock solid backstories, and the lore could start being more consistent. Perhaps it could take inspiration from both the Genesis/Mega Drive classics and the Adventure series for it's storytelling themes and artstyle aesthetic?
