If I'm interpreting this correctly, then what you want involves the use of checkpoints and boss waypoints. This guide is listed in the "additional resources" section and should be enough for you to set those up. Hope this helps.

it was removed in 1.4, but you don't need it for the setup.

its probably false. Sometimes antiviruses can incorrectly scan programs as unsafe when its from an obscure website.
