Server hosting problems

I'm trying to host a modded server for my friends, problem is, I'm using Starlink, which doesn't support port forwarding (by the looks of it). I've tried VPNs like Radmin, Hamachi, etc, but they cause the game to crash when my friends join the server. Do you any of you have any ideas on what I'm supposed to do?

Unfortunately, no. Your only options here are to use a VPN that assigns an IANA private IP range, rent an inexpensive VPS to run the game server on, or have someone else host the game and forward port 5029 because holepunching will not work for you.

Starlink uses CGNAT, which prevents NAT holepunching and also prevents any meaningful port forwarding, since you do not have any single fixed IP between connections.

Ring Racers specifically cannot recognize certain free VPN software as using IPs belonging to private networks. Hamachi, Radmin, and similar services use a public IPv4 range in a private networking configuration to allow them to work while inside private networks which do use the IANA private ranges. We do check for the private ranges otherwise though. This might change in the future, but for now it's not possible to use those services.
