RVZ colormap?

I don't know if this is intentional, but on the upper path of RVZ, the section where you do a 90-degree turn to the left and you have to time a jump due to a lava fall, there's an orange colormap even when the player is not in the lava.

I always thought it was a way of warning you that the lava is about to fall.

That may be the case, but it's a bit weird still.
I also noticed this effect is happening at all locations with lava falls.
