So here's someone you may have seen me show off on Discord or on Twitter; レイセン, or "Rei'sen"! Not to be confused with Reisen Udongein Inaba. There's a story behind the name confusion, but don't sweat it. She's normally named just "Reisen", but we're going with the apostrophe between レイ and セン method for the name.
Anyways, her abilities are the ability to use Spirit Energy for her moves. Yin energy is used for her Bayonet shots, and Yang is used for her Gunloafers. Yin recharges automatically when you're not firing, and Yang insantly reloads when landing or stomping damagable objects.
Bayonet Shots pierce foes and can be fired at a much higher rate than Fang's popgun. You can also shoot them while running and jumping, and shot speed scales with your current movement speed. The shots will even go through walls and slide along slopes!
The Gunloafers are based on Downwell, and work like the Shotgun type does. Each shot takes two bars of Yang to use (HUD graphics loaned from [M A R I A] for now, will replace later), and all shots are reloaded upon landing on anything! You can jump up to 3 times, and each shots sprays bullets downward!
The Bayonet Charge will dive you forwards when you hold a direction, and you will do a combat roll when you land. The midair motion will allow you to plow through bustable walls and offer a few frames of intangibility to projectiles by grazing. The roll will also let you slip under short cracks.
Finally (Discord linked because MB threw a fit), Rei'sen's color makeup is very different from other characters, making her incompatable with the default skincolors. But this is because she can radically transform her own colors! As of writing she sports 33 custom tailored skincolors! Some are originals, but most are based on other characters. Don't feel bad if you can't recognise them all!
Most of the non-visual coding is done, its mostly the lack of attacking hitboxes on the Bayonet Charge (rolling can still break walls at least), and possibly letting the Gunloafers' shot break floors. Aside from that, it all visuals from here on out, but art takes a lot of time. I'll post updates here as I make more advances!
