this is a important question that genuinely came out of my head. can we like record our voices into our characters? i'm very curious. like real voices. because we can't always take VA's/VO's from other games.

I don't see nothing wrong about that. Its part of the creativity!
Why limiting yourself or others for it to do it? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Unless its privacy or some other greater problem, then yeah...
