NiGHTSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS... a few eons later ... SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!This list will attempt to merge in suitable extra stages, fill in certain gaps, and readd the trio of scrapped rock stages. This isn't entirely what I'd want.)
1. Greenflower Zone (no changes past ones already being done due to physics rework, and Act 2 clearly being set on Greenflower Mountain, with Act 3 on top. Transition to THZ is just running into the distance after jumping off the mountain.)
2. Techno Hill Zone (other than changes to make the zone more interesting, no changes. Transition to DSZ is the train crashing, throwing Sonic and gang out the front.)
3. Deep Sea Zone (other than the known revamp, nothing changes. Boss arena crumbles after the capsule is opened, leading to....)
4. Mine Maze Zone (of course I put it here, exactly where it used to be. Act 1 is the original aesthetic, Act 2 becomes more industrial. Boss is based off the boss for Knux in MGZ, as already said. Transition is running into a cave. New gimmicks required.)
5. Forest Fortress Zone (Surprise! Set in the late night, Act 1 is much like the current version of FFZ that is known, plus some extra details from CEZ1. Much like Anton's suggestion, Act 2 takes place in a tower, and Act 3 takes place on top, The end of Act 3 is the bridge collapse sequence of CEZ1, leading to...)
6. Castle Eggman Zone (Styled entirely after Act 2, the 1st Act leads to the library tower, and the 2nd Act ends with the clocktower, Act 3 being on top. Transition is running off to a group of distant mountains...)
7. Rocky Mountain Zone (Grassy mountains above the clouds, this serves as a transition to ACZ. With new gimmicks, you slowly move towards where reports of an armed mercenary have been (or to your next job location if playing as Fang.) Act 2 deals with more cloud gimmicks. Boss for Act 3 I'm unsure on.)
8. Arid Canyon Zone (Act 1 starts off with being springed off a mountain, like in 2.0. Nothing much changes. Transition is a train crash.)
9. Red Volcano Zone (Act 1 is basically the same with no rocket, Act 2 is more focused on the volcano elements. Act 3 boss should be sorta like a massive Rexon. Transition is a sudden rise in the lava level.)
10. Blue Mountain Zone (Merged with Frozen Hillside, Act 1 takes place late at night, and Act 2 right before sunrise. New gimmicks, blah. Act 3 boss is something along the lines of Egg Frostburn.)
11. Dark City Zone (No, Brak is not the boss here. Brak is gone. Act 2 takes the role as the "casino" level after a brief chase by the boss. Act 3 boss is completely new. You fight the boss as the Grand Eggship begins to rise.)
12. Grand Eggship Zone (Act 1 is as the ship rises. Act 2 is out of the atmosphere as the ship approaches the Egg Rock. Act 3 boss needs conceptualized. Gimmicks are similar to that of Falcon Emissary.)
13. Egg Rock Zone (2.3 remake. Act 3 is Egg Boiler.)
14. Black Rock Zone (Act 1 is the race, Act 2 is the Metal Sonic fight, but then you don't get thrown down into Act 3. Act 2 instead ends in an elevator. Act 3 is not Brak.)
15. Final Fight Zone (All Emeralds true final boss, in NiGHTS style.)
Put concept art?I don't know, i didn't know how to connect it with dark city zone. But i have a better idea, i'll edit it.

Also I think "Greenflower Valley" sounds nice, but I think there's a mod somewhere called "Greenflower Valley", which is why I called it "Greenflower Hills".M
My definitive zone list would be:
Greenflower Zone, as it is. But act 2 is more obviously Greenflower Mountain, and i wouldn't rename it Greenflower Hills, we have enough hills in sonic, i'd rename it Greenflower Valley.
Techno Hill Zone, but with act 2 looking more like it's located in the same place as act 1, and with some sections ressembling the look of the old THZ2, to make it look more like a factory. And act 1 looking more like a polluted greenflower zone, while still being unique.
Deep Sea Zone, which eggman is not only being drilled by eggman, but also THZ's "sewer",for it to make more sense that it comes after THZ. i'd add Mine Maze in here but it's a better transition from CEZ to ACZ.
Forest Fortress Zone,being an only act zone, going towards Castle Eggman Zone in a forest. With the beggining of the act being the exit from DSZ.
Castle Eggman Zone stays as is.But the boss should be easier,and the arena should be near the entrance to a mine.
Mine Maze Zone is eggman's mine, where he gets materials to build his robots. It was built over an abbandoned mine.
Arid Canyon Zone stays as is,but with it being more obvious that you left from a mine.
Rocky Mountain Zone is a valley in arid canyon zone, you go on top of various mountains,it should be more focused on verticality than speed,but it shouldn't be slow.
Blue Mountain Zone(ik it was just an act 2 for red volcano,but i'd include it as a zone) is the tallest and widest mountain in RMZ,with a few small ice caves and with the outside being foggy like CEZ1,but the fog is a grayish-cyan and isn't very dense.A smaller moutain near it is RVZ.
Red Volcano Zone stays as is,but the skybox has mountains instead of more volcanos.Act 2 is the inside of the volcano, it looks like the pre-2.2 level but with new 2.2 level standarts. At the end, you leave the volcano and descend a mountain, getting to DCZ.
Dark City zone is next to Rocky Mountain's valley. It's a city that got taken over by eggman's robots and is now in ruins. Eggman is preparing to travel to the egg rock in here.Act 2 is underground in the sewers.You have to explore and at the end you find GEZ about to launch.
Grand Eggship Zone is in the ship.It has parts on the inside and outside of the ship.In the skybox you can see the previous zones below you.Act 2 is in the inside of the ship,and ERZ is already in the skybox.
Aerial Garden Zone is still secret, but it's more like HPZ in 2013 sonic 2 kinda secret than frozen hillside kinda secret. If you find a hidden exit in act 1 of GEZ, you enter it. The difficulty is easier and at the end you jump back in GEZ.
Egg Rock Zone stays as it is.
Black Core Zone doesn't have outside sections since it's the core of the asteroid.You have a bit of normal gameplay before the metal sonic race. The walls in the bossfight are a mix of melting rocks and metallic walls.Out of that,stays as is. Then,you fight the actual final boss instead of brak eggman.I imagine another big eggman robot but more menacing.And the arena is bigger.
Then, if you have the chaos emeralds,in the ending, you get a new bossfight/level. Since wr have no idea how that could be i'll just make something up,like what i made with half of the zones in this comment.
you see eggman's robot get inside a hole in the exploding Egg Rock. He is now controlling the entiere asteroid. You become super. Then, you break out of the capsule, and fight eggman controlling everything on the asteroid. If you beat him, the asteroid explodes and eggman falls down to earth. You fly down to greenflower zone and the credits play. If you don't get the emeralds, you just fall down to earth in the capsule.

This thread is about coming up with new zones to add to the existing list, not your favorite zones in the game.Arid Canyon and Aerial Garden. Those two top the list for me.
