I'm not sure if anyone else has been experiencing this but this has been happening quite frequently for me.
Whenever SRB2 is running, it sometimes causes my entire computer to freeze and my screen to glitch out. I've attached a YouTube video of what exactly happens.
(Note that by the time I started to record, it had already been happening for around 15 seconds. Also, it's recorded with an actual camera because recording software on the computer doesn't seem to pick it up)
When it happens, my entire computer stops working for a short period of time. Even after it becomes responsive again, the screen keeps glitching out, albeit less frequent and not as severe (I'll attach another video because it's literally happening right now as I'm typing this). This effect lasts indefinitely until the computer is shut down or restarted. Also, after the computer becomes responsive again, SRB2 no longer updates visually and remains stuck on the frame it showed before everything broke. Aside from that, the game itself appears to be fine, as I can still hear sounds in response to inputs I make (like beeping in the menus or the ring loss sound when hit). The game requires a restart in order for it to work properly.
This has only started happening after I downloaded a recent update for the game (unsure of which one it started happening, but the version I currently have is v2.2.13 and this bug has been occurring with this version as well). It never happened until then. I haven't noticed any particular pattern as to what causes it, it just appears to happen at random. However, I suspect it has something to do with the OpenGL renderer. I haven't seen it happen at all when I switch the renderer to Software, but that doesn't mean it's impossible because I haven't tested the Software renderer for very long. Another reason I think it's a problem with OpenGL is because the same glitch is present in Dr. Robotnik's Ring Racers while the renderer is set to Legacy GL.
Here's the video of my computer when it initially breaks:
Here's the video showing what I have to deal with as a result until I restart my computer:
I swear this literally looks like it's some sort of poorly made creepypasta but I can promise you that it's real
Let's hope it's even possible for this to be fixed, because for all I know, this could be an issue with the actual OpenGL render system and could be entirely out of the control of the SRB2 devs.
