If you're using a custom resolution that isn't a multiple of (what I assume) 320, it might not be able to change video modes. Also, you might be running more than one SRB2 at once in OpenGL. I recall getting that error when you try to open two SRB2s in OpenGL...
Whoa, mine just started doing it too... It said "Resolution could not be set because it failed the test." O_O Now OpenGL only turns on in window mode... Which sucks for net games.
No wait, I fixed the problem. Csmgiw, if you haven't fixed it, use window mode in openGL to do this. Go to the options->Video options->3D card options. Then make sure the quality is set to say 16 bits, fixed it for me.
