For once I'll make a long post:
I agree with UruZingLo: I think they're both good.
The Genesis had a library chock-full of great shooters, arcade games, etc. Then there are the overwhelming amount of underrated games. If anyone is willing to dig through the entire library just to find them, then they'll know why.
That as well. Underrated games. I mean, there are some awesome, but barely known games (such as Metal Arms: Glitch in the System), and the relatively crappier, although somehow more famous (FIFA series, anyone?) ones. That's the main thing that upsets me about games.
I also agree with SMS. The games are recovering, but they need less Sonic himself and more gameplay. *points to Sonic Advance series* Those are the good ones.
Despite that, Nintendo has its flaws. I mean, look at LoZ: Twilight Princess. Wolf form? Oh come on. Werewolf without the weaknesses much. Mario keeps going, but Bowser overuses lava. Why the same old plan with a different twist? It's essentially the same old thing. And besides... According to the SSB series, Peach could kick Bowser's ass. Seriously. Peach also has a generic name, at least in japanese: Peach means Love in said language. This means her
real name is Princess Love. GE-NE-RIC.
And I also ignore game reviews that say NOTHING, I repeat,
NO-THING, good about the game. All they usually do is whine like a ***** about the bad stuff. One person whined: "GAMECUBEGRAPHICS BADGAMEPLAY ONLYGOODTHINGABOUTGRAPHICSARETHEPOLICELIGHTS ETC ETC ETC" you get the idea. I think that was Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity. I mean, seriously. Okay, Sonic isn't as fast on a board, but you shouldn't whine about it like a total ****ing pain in the neck (excuse my language). Those reviewers are like a disease: they make the others think it's absolutely awful before they even rent it, have it loaned from a friend, or buy it. I've been a victim of sucky games twice (Madagascar mainly, and Iron Man was a bit too easy on Normal). There have also been bad Mario games in the past (mainly for the Famicom (Sonario and Mario Casino (
PUSH START TO RICH) anyone?)) And it has its cheapass deaths too. One of Mario Kart Wii's circuits had this leap at one point, and sometimes a fireball hit you. This caused you to fall into the lava pit below and burn. This'd make you drop down a lot in the rankings, thanks to the fact that it killed 8 or so seconds, which is a huge gap in racing. Also, Super Mario Galaxy had it's anoyying bits. In "A sticky situation", you had these spider web thingies, and it was REALLY ANOYYING, because it barely allows mistakes. And it was tricky to get 1ups sometimes. Lots of cheap you-missed-the-target deaths. You can get to the spider webs by spinning sometimes, if it's a close miss, but other times, you just fall into the black hole below. Really gets anoyying.
And as a final note to those who think Sonic fails/is failing: THEN WHY THE (censored) DO YOU PLAY SRB2!?
