New WIP Topic Policy - Locking

D00D64

Unresponsible
Recently as of this post, we have been locking various topics. Due to repeated bumping/necroposting/gravedigging, and other similar terms for posting in old threads, as well as users posting in topics for mods that have no guarantee of resuming or revival, we are now locking topics that meet at least one of the following criteria;
  • A topic for a cancelled project.
  • A topic that is "on hold", "on hiatus", or similar terminology.
  • A topic from a banned user, and thus cannot continue.
  • A bumped topic that has shown no progress in a long period of time (usually months).
  • The subject mod has been released, meaning a discussion topic for the mod has been made in releases, making a WIP topic unneeded.
If any of these qualifications are met, then it will be locked, and will no longer be accompanied by a post from a moderator. If you are the author of a topic that was locked, you may contact a moderator to unlock it so you may continue posting, or create a new topic to continue detailing your progress. Please do not create more than one active topic for the same mod at a time!

I thing We Should Do A Vote
A vote for what? This has been established two years ago and nobody else has had any problems with it.

This policy is for threads whose projects are not in progress or are unlikely to or impossible to continue being worked on.
If the author is able to continue on it and wants their thread unlocked, they can ask staff to get it open.
