Sonic and Amy having kids is overdone.
Shadow and Rouge, however...
But besides. Noone here likes most fancharecters that much except the n00bs. Stay to the original cast, please.
Besides, they aren't that good.
Stoner? Is he on drugs?
Alt.Stoner is a wierd name.
Amethyst. What the...
Amonic... Putting the names of the two parents together is uncool.
And it doesnt happen in real life. IE-
A guy named Joe has sex with a girl named Mellisa.
Would the kid be named Mellisoe? Jellisa?
WRONG. It would be an ordinary name.
See?

In yur face!!

*Cracks knuckles*

Sonic and Amy having kids has been overdone, this is just my rendition of it...
Shadow and Rouge, intresting concept, i was thinking about it, but I probably won't do anything with the concept.
Nobody likes fan characters, it's true, sometimes, but you'll see why i insist on using them, when i make the level pack...
Not that good eh, well i have been using them for a while, and i have a bit of an unrealeased comic series with 88 comics, let me see your fan characters.(If you got them)
Yes, stoner is on drugs.(Stoner isn't his real name)
Alt.Stoner=Alternate Stoner.(Not original, who cares, you NOOB)
Amethyst isn't my character, she's my sisters character.
Amonic, well yeah i thought about the name fusion thing, as crap, but it is starting to seep in, and besides i'll probably call her Amon in my comic anyway.
I know it doesn't happen in real life...
Example, Example...
Example, Example...
Yes, it would be an ordinary name.
What is there too see, a NOOB who critisizes, other peoples fan characters, when he doesn't care for fancharacters, seriously dude, impressive rant though. I'll give it...(****)stars, not perfect, but really freakin' good...

A... n00b?
Why are you insulting me when I haven't insulted you?
That's low-brow.
Amon is a better name. Keep it. And take away the 'time-travelling/SonXAmy' backstory.
Sorry about saying bad things about your sister's char, but that's a bad name. Thymys is a better name then Amythymyst, use it.
This is a kid's game, no drugs. They took down a level named f*** zone, and took down a strip club level. I don't think they'll have tolerance for drugs either.
Is Alt.Stoner supposed to be a different sprite of Stoner?
I care about GOOD fancharecters. I want people to make good fancharecters. Mine isn't the best, I agree, but you guys will never see it. The best glimpse you have of it is my account name.
EDIT: Oh, use SRB2 style. Sonic TINY is bad.

Stoner is on drugs, get over it. He REALLY
doesn't fuction well without them. My sisters fan characters name, is Amethyst not Amythymys, Amethyst, as in that purple-ish gem. And i'm not answering any more questions. That Amon thing, i have to agree with you on, drop the -ic, and it sounds better. And she doesn't time travel, this is just some random screenshot-y thing to elaborate on the fan-character-ness, and the SonicXAmy thing, is just something in the comic, which i'll post the link to, when i release it, to the public. But you'll still see it, baby hedgehogs don't just rain from the sky, but what if they did. *Thinks about what that would be like, family guy style*

Edit: Capitalized the really, for epicness.

That just shows how much he does not work in this game.

Stoner doesn't fit in SRB2 well then.
You could change him. He doesn't have to be on drugs.
Thymys sounds better then Thymyst.
And I don't mean babies rain from the sky, I mean just not SonXAmy.

This is what I say about the recolours, crappy story and the SonicXAmy stuff... (I haven't tried the levels yet...)

MIBADIDEA.png

I'm getting the feeling the levels aren't going to be any different to the rest of it...

Having a story is fine, but using recolored fan characters is universally bad. I don't care if SEGA does it constantly now. The problem with Sonic is that they keep adding too many characters. Don't make it worse when you make your own. Even original characters aren't really a good idea, never mind characters that are basically low resolution edits of Sonic and Amy.

What the hell.

Then you would blame the fact the sprites are edit from SRB2 ones.

I'm quite sure that then you agree that even a good storyline (with no extra characters) isn't a good idea.

But seriously. People, you all should calm down. Ignore Sega if needed. I mean, seriously, you all are getting extremely critic with it. In fact I've already saw some people saying that you shouldn't even try to do anything even if it's just Sonic and Eggman in a very good fangame. Not to mention that a lot of people already started to think SRB2 sucks and doesn't deserve to be played, even the upcoming 1.1 version. Moreover, expect the 1.1 release to overkill this forum, leaving all n00bs in and all smart people away.

Anybody ever wants to reset all this? C'mon, actually it's a sum of a lot of things. First of all, Sega is making crappy games. Then comes that sudden of all the Internet has become even more stupid than before, and it's exponencially becoming even more stupid. I don't know how this is happening, but it is, I don't know if somebody is sending a massive army of n00bs or what, but it suddenly happening all over the Internet (not just here) is getting me angry. See, two years ago, when I left, this forum was considered a model to follow. Now people consider this to be one of the worst forums over the Internet. What suddenly happened? Somebody explain me this, because there must be a reason behind this.

Somebody please bring back those times were fans were happy making fangames. They had fancharacters in it, and even some really crappy storylines, but even yet, people liked them. Nobody complained about it. And they didn't have the best engines really. I wonder what did they have current games don't...

Anyways, I wonder why am I posting this. Now somebody will quote this post and say "STFU" or post an image saying "EPIC FAIL". Meaning that you people don't care about it at all. And see, it makes it obvious the problem is yours, not just bad design ideas from somebody. Yes, I know this WAD isn't good, but not so to overkill it. I've seen worse things, and people didn't care about them.

Not true, Sik. I care :<

1st Paragraph:
That's true. I've seen the effect "no fancharacters" has brought upon the popularity of SRB2. Since we all start out as noobs, and the fact that mostly noobs care about this, a lesser amount of noobs will come here for the game. That's not necessarily a good thing; in most cases, noobs cease being noobs when they get more experience on the internet, or gain maturity by aging or some other way. Though, I do not agree that 1.1 will overkill the forum... it may disrupt activity, that's for sure. The sheer amount of members joining will be staggering at first, but eventually, it will be under control (I assume a bunch of people will be new moderators/administrators when this happens).

2nd Paragraph:
Web 2.0. *shot* Well, one would assume the internet would be changing, just like everything else does. It's not only that a new generation has been introduced to the vast world we call internet, but also the advancement of technology within itself. Now it has become increasingly easier to make a webpage, have a webdirectory, store files, etcetera. Because of this, people are taking advantage of the convenience. It happens. You just learn how to deal with it. Rules aren't considered to be convenient, because it adds restrictions and limits, so that's why this forum is considered to be one of the worse. Idiots do something totally intolerable, so a rule is added to make them stop. It has happened enough times to add a large amount of rules that could easily intimidate new users. The strictness is necessary, though; otherwise, the forum would fall apart (or prosper; it depends on the situation).

What happened was youtube. As plainly seen on the video's comments, many, if not the majority, of the browsers of youtube are n00bs. The n00bs that were already here made videos like "Srb2 fun", which were basically videos of sonic, tails and knuckles clone standing around and hanging out. Of course, n00bs see srb2 and ask in the comments what game it is, and either A: They get answered or B: they use google. In using google, they find it. Then, they start making levels/recolors, think they are the best creator of them in the world,(of course not needing proper grammar or intelligence!) and join the forums, or they join the forums asking where to get JTE or HMS123311, or they join the forums for the heck of it and act like they are the center of the universe.

Those are called newbies, in their very early stages. Real n00bs never become better :/

Wait and watch how most of the people here will leave after 1.1 gets released and how fast they do it :P It already happened with 1.09, imagine it with 1.1, which suppodsely will be the first complete version for real (first because then come bugfixes :P).

I don't think this will make any big change to the situation (either for good or for bad)...

No, people are looking at this forum as a sanctuary for idiots. In fact I have been even asked to leave this forum because of that (I won't mention who was it before causing more trouble, just I'll say it wasn't somebody from here).

Youtube already existed back when I joined the forums. C'mon, even before I even started messing up with Internet! And SRB2 has been out there even longer than YouTube. I highly doubt YouTube has anything to do with it.

EDIT: BBCode typo. Anyways, yes, I had to answer the entire posts, I felt like doing so :P

EDIT 2: BBCode typo again... ARGH. Yes, so angry I am >:( (well, it's a huge post too)

I'd just like to comment on one last thing...

I dunno, Sik. I think I, myself, am living proof that your statement is false. :P
Seriously, if I wasn't a n00b, then... I dunno what I was.

The thing is, not very many n00bs knew how to (or at least wanted to) upload videos at the time. Also, youtube was much less popular then.

See, in theory, a n00b is a person that never stops acting like a newbie. A newbie is expected to make all those stupid mistakes. But they learn and stop doing so. A n00b never stops. If you stopped being a n00b, then obviously you weren't a real n00b, but a newbie. Not all newbies learn fast, and being banned from at least one forum is the most normal thing. Even I was banned from one forum (well, after breaking absolutely all rules except posting porn XD).
