Now loaded with Calcium!
Hey, I've been wanting to know how to get a better sounding MIDI software for use on MIDI-Compatible programs such as SRB2, Skulltag, ETC.
But I don't know where to start,
Nor do I know how to change the Software to something other then Windows' Default,
Which is Windows GS Wavetable Synth. Keep in mind I'm using Vista.

Now for the kind of Soundfont I'm looking for, It sounds more of a Synth then Real instruments.
Examples:

Notice how they Sound Identical?
I believe Its the same MIDI Software, But I don't know where to find it, or how to install it on Vista, Let alone a Computer in general.

Please help, And Thanks if you can.

Windows uses its own synthesizer that takes only DirectMusic .DLS instrument libraries. Hardly anyone makes .dls replacements since hardly any hardware can process them natively on a DSP. .DLS are not soundfonts (sft, sf2). Not only that, but the Windows Synthesizer is locked to 22,050Hz which is not fun to hear for any audio enthusiast.

You'll have to install a software synth like Timidity++ for Windows to use soundfonts.

Why don't you just enable OGG playback in SRB2? I'm not really sure why people use the MIDI music, since OGG just works and sounds better.

I didn't say Just SRB2.
I only listed off SRB2 as an example of "MIDI Compatible Programs"
