Please don't start on a mod yet. Rather, practice by making individual levels. After you've gotten all the experience you want, then make your mod.

I don't even think a screenshot like that would get good results. To me, that seems quite bland, but to some, you'd just get a lot of information. Those arrows on the ground seem a bit annoying as well.
