Modern Sonic boosting problem (on GS grinding rails)

Guys, I have a problem with modern sonic and GS grinding rails. Anytime I try to boost on the rails, I can't. It just doesn't work on any map. Is that meant to happen or is it a bug? If it is, help me fix it (please).

neither, modern sonic doesn’t have support for rail boosting yet iirc, but v6 will be able to boost on rails
