Anyone played this game and its series?

They're mainly arcade games, but they've all seen console releases. They're available on all current gen consoles, and the PS2.

What is Metal Slug? Good old run and gun, side scroller! Think Contra.

Recently, I came back into contact with this seires, and god I don't think I've enjoyed any game more. Brings back fond memories of when I actually went to arcades and got my butt kicked by the game. :P

(But finally I aced the (first) game.)

Metal Slug X was THE best metal slug game. It had less slowdowns. more power-ups. More everything. I usually play as Tarma. And my favorite stage is the second stage, the one with the mummies. Yeah, Metal Slug is awesome.
