In the Red Volcano.
A part of the lava does not hurt.

Actually, it does damage you.

the reason why it doesnt damage you is because you completed the level.

When you complete the level, you are sort of "invincible" to anything. For instance, Since you completed the level, the lava does not hurt you. But the lava would damage you if you didn't complete the level

That's there so you don't finish a level and then fling yourself off a cliff by accident. Pretty helpful.

I've once played a WAD where it's actually possible to die after completing the level, and you'll come back on the next one with no lives and GAME OVER stuck to your screen, but you can still move. If you die again, you'll end up with -1 lives.

It's hard-coded to make you completely invincible when you complete a stage. You shouldn't be capable of dying after you complete a level. A classic example of this is how you can land on the bottomless pit after the end of AGZ1.

I remeber doing CEZ3 in multiplayer a few times and 'I would hit the robot for the finial time and fling myself into the chemicals below. If I had no rings I would die if i had some i would lose them underwater.

You aren't invincible immediately after Eggman dies, you're invincible after you lose control of your character.

They've explained this already. We know you didn't use cheats, but it's not a bug either.

When you complete the level you become invincibile until the next level is loaded. So if you jump into the end level sector, and land in lava, you'll be fine.
