MD2 character select

Ok so i would like to suggest an idea.. mainly because im personally stuck..

is there any way to set up what frames of the md2 that srb2 1.09 uses for each action..?

if so would it be possible to add more frames to my models and create a larger texture file and set these frames up so that when knuckles is loaded it uses a set number of frames..? or a set of frames for tails..? this would make character select with md2 a little easier if it is possible..

granted we would have to make big texture files..
but if we condensed the models into one md2 and set frames would this work..? plz let me know any thoughts or info asap.. it would really help in the development of my game..
 
You are describing a concept our best modelers have been stumped on ever since the wizard model was released... the Multimodel <insert scary m-word here>.
