I have never known, until reading your statement, that people always ban spectators. However, if the people don't choose a team, the host, or an administrator, can just choose the team for them (a force) via SERVERCHANGETEAM.You said:People ban spectators all the time, I don't see why this one is any different...

Also, why call it "spectator" when people don't want other players to just watch the game? Should spectators cause lag, due to their slow internet connection, or due to an overflow of players in the server (numerous), they can get kicked, or forced into a team. If people just don't want spectators, there shouldn't be any spectators then. Upon visit in a server that's hosting CTF, the player can instead see a small window, asking the player which team to be on. Once a team has been selected, the game for the player will begin.
