master server problem

StarryRB2

Starry Rounding Blaster 2
so i went to play multiplayer mode and when i entered server browser it said there was a problem connecting to the master server and i tried a lot of times it still didn't work can anyone help?

Many players are currently experiencing the error:

“There was a problem connecting to the Master Server”

Even when:
  • The master server address is correct (ms.sigsevcafe.com:28900)
  • Port forwarding is properly configured
  • Hosting and joining by IP still works

This issue is widespread and likely related to DNS resolution failures or timeout bugs in SRB2 v2.2.15.

This means the domain ms.sigsevcafe.com no longer exists or isn't registered in public DNS. That’s why SRB2 can’t reach the master server — it’s trying to connect to a hostname that’s currently unresolvable.

🧩 What’s Going On?

  • The SRB2 master server used to be hosted at ms.sigsevcafe.com, but it appears that domain has expired, been moved, or misconfigured.
  • This results in a NXDOMAIN error — meaning “non-existent domain” in DNS terms. :3

Did... did you AI generate this answer?

Obviously.
It’s ChatGPT’s dialect through and through.

Don’t answer questions with AI.
If someone is asking a question in a place like this they want an answer from an actual person.
If they wanted an answer from AI, they’d actually ask ChatGPT themselves.

It’s also worth adding that ChatGPT is very commonly completely wrong about information regarding smaller projects like SRB2.

Answering questions with answers generated by AI is so idiotic.

I'm going to back up what Jammin' said above, while you came from a position of good intent ChatGPT/other services aren't trusthworthy at all beyond to use as a glorified search engine unless you are already very familiar with what you are asking it about in the first place.

so like why yall posting here anymore? the problem's been solved
Because:

A. The problem has not been solved, people other than you are still having trouble connecting to the MS
B. We are not trying to solve the issue in this thread, we are reacting to someone posting an AI response to a request for help, which isn't something that should ever happen
C. The person who did it is still arguing back and thus that gets a response too

Who are you guys?

Jamin', can you do better. Then where to you think I've got the info from???
Doing better is not saying anything about it because I don’t know what the way to solve the issue is, and nor do I know where to find the way to solve it is.

You’re doing worse because you did something that the OP could’ve done themselves if that’s what they wanted.
