Mario & Sonic olympics Wii remote cont problem, please h

I'm having troubles playing Wii games on my wii remote. When I load my wii, the hand thing on Player 1's is posistioned right like finger is pointing up. But when I was playing Mario and Sonic Olympics earlier, I did something, and the hand is now pointing the finger downwards even if pointing the wii remote proprerly, and not turning the remote upside down. This is annoying me, since I can't play the events, and I can't even pause the game like this, but it's ok if I go to home menu. I'd be grateful if someone can tell me how to deal with this problem.

Same problem I had, I'm now trying to send my remote in for repairs because its not the only game it doesn't work on. Works fine on menus except upside down, and doesn't work during gameplay right?

It happens once in a while. Try pointing your Wiimote at the screen, twist it while still pointing at the screen. Now twist it very quickly while pointing it very close to the screen. Its now upside down, while your Wiimote is normal. To fix this, point it away from the screen, and point it back at it.

You sure your problem was a permanent one?

It's happened about nearly all afternoon. I'm not sure if I'm doing it right of what you said SMS, but I pointed it at the opposite direction of my TV. Pointed back, nothing happens. Could you possibly put it in steps, not sure if I did it right and kinda confused.

It wasn't just the problem in the menus that was bugging me since that was only in one game (M&S), it was the fact it didn't work during any of the games' gameplay. My parents talked to a guy at circuit city who suggested a messed up gyroscope or something.

That seems to indicate that its not just a occasional menu problem, but something wrong with the Wii Remote that messes it up when the game is actually supposed to be playing (events or pausing), personally I am clueless as to what the actual problem is, so I'm letting Nintendo worry about that.

This happened to me a bunch of times. To fix it, all you have to do is shake and twist it rapidly and that thing inside it bounces right into place.

Ok, thanks for helping me guys, I'll try again tonight. Luckily, my second wii remote which was the player 2 remote, is now the Player 1 remote for now. Got to get the dang thing to work soon.
