Level select after getting all emeralds

I beat the game with all the emeralds...on easy...didn't know it has to be on normal +...
Anyways, I loaded my file with all the emeralds on easy, went to level select, greenflower zone act 1, got 50 rings and double jumped. I couldn't become super sonic. Is that because I only beat it on easy?

 

[Shuffle]

Get all the emeralds on Normal.

 

[Super mystic sonic]

You can do that with any character you want.

Example: You get all emeralds with knux on normal, watch the credits to the end, and choose level select. Take a level and choose Sonic. Get 50/more rings and thok. You'll be Super Sonic. If not, you didn't follow these steps or you've been a bad boy last year.
