Ey'all, not sure if this topic have been brought up before, but nonetheless I just want to talk about this masterpiece found on Youtube because I thought it's very underrated. A pixel art gallery with sweet and catchy tunes from various artists, confined for the Sega CD, made by none other than InstantSonic. It's...

Re:Sonic the Hedgehog

There are things I really want to point out from this video alone, as I couldn't really afford a copy of it so here it is!
  • Spectacular Artworks
I was astounded on how amazing the pixel arts that were displayed, it's very vibrant and with hints of nostalgia too. The strong contrast on the colors are delightful, and how each of the characters were drawn too. The artstyle seems to be heavily based on late 90-ish Sonic artworks, especially like those Harmony covers/Sonic the Hedgehog Screensaver. The themes were based on the mainline Sonic games in the genesis era, from Sonic the Hedgehog to Sonic 3D Blast. My favorite artwork has to be "PROTEGE".

  • Cool Music
The music that were chosen for the album are all great, even some become my all time favorite and got me introduced to artists I never heard of. Overall very solid, may as well be added to my playlist if I ever want to make or draw something...

  • Overall Thoughts
In conclusion, this tribute gallery is wonderfully made and should have gotten more recognition within' the community, like SRB2. I could imagine a mod based on that aesthetic specifically and I would like to try it. Even if the definitive experience is on the Sega CD, I could see potentials from it and maybe expanded upon other things not just Sonic related, y'know like an indie game or something. So yeah, you guys should check it out or support it if you do like it!

Well, that's all I could say and see you soon!

Thank you for introducing me and hopefully many others to this! This is a true treasure and I can't believe I haven't found it until now. Everything is so pretty! Having the retro Sonic games be more appealing to me(as well as retro games in general), this is literally an underrated gem.
