everybody knows about the ever so awesome mystic realm right? how many levels it has? well if mystic realm has been done for such a long time, why is it taking the real srb2 so long? i am not asking for a early release or anything, i'm just wondering. is it something to do with the programming? or is it something els?

In any case, the last release of Mystic Realm was when 1.09 came out, IIRC.

The last release of Mystic Realm was during the 1.09.3.xx era, actually. Its bosses(and the custom enemies in second quest) were some of the first SOC works to use action parameters, which came into existence during the near-constant flood of EXE releases.

Simple, SRB2 is the whole game: Engine, Sprites, Console, etc.
Mystic Realm just is a mappack with custom bosses. It had less to be done.

I don't think there were many custom bosses besides the final boss, but you still pegged it down, CK. It basically all comes down to whether it's just a levelpack or a completely new EXE.
