Joining Dedicated Servers

Burning-Fox

Does not approve of rails.
So, basically the issue I'm having is:

When I host a Dedicated Server, I can't join said server.

Obviously you're wanting to suggest a batch file or something with clientport parimeters, but I've already tried everything from the old 2.0.7 method of hosting Dedicated. I used to be able to literally start hosting, and click my batch file and bam, I'd join my server directly. That isn't the case.

Any help, please?

The startSRB2 launcher has an option for automatically joining your own dedicated server when you launch the game.

Yep. I ran into this problem too. It's actually because the old way of joining your own dedicated server doesn't work anymore.

Check out this thread to learn how get past the problem:

Basically you have to figure out your LAN IP. If this seems too hard just download my launcher and find the "join my dedicated server" checkbox. It will handle everything for you.

Here is my launcher:

EDIT:
I have updated the wiki page with new information. Go nuts! https://wiki.srb2.org/wiki/Dedicated_server

I know it is solved but if the issue comes again here is something for you. If you are running the server on the same computer you want to play it or if it is in a computer in your same Local Area Network (LAN) as your own the best way to play on it is to change the port of the client to something different than the default which is 5029.

Using -clientport <number> either as a parameter in the SRB2 net launcher or making a batch file to do such.
