Is there video or in-detail tutorial for modding in custom characters or followers?

I'm mainly talking about what good programs to use in general
(and yes, I'm new to this kart-modding stuff, so if this common knowledge, I apologize for this)

There's a bunch of information on programs in either of the discords, but Aesprite is a really common spritework program that people generally recommend. It's either 20 dollars or free if you compile it yourself and you're always bound to get a bunch of aid in this regard from other people in using it.

There's also a free trial for either messing around/getting used to it before commiting to either process of getting it which helps.

Like I said, either 20 dollars or you just compile it which shouldn't take too long especially since I'm sure there's guides already out there for doing this.

The desktop version of Pixelorama may be an acceptable alternative, if you can figure out how to import the game palette into it.

Libresprite is a another alternative which is a free fork of an older version of Aseprite.

Use whatever works best for you.
