Is there a way to change a character's default skincolor?

Maverick Finn

thought air was free, til I bought a bag of chips
For example, Xmomentum changes the vanilla cast's default skincolors. Every time you start a new game, every time you enter a new stage using that specific character, it will be using that specific color.

I want to change that. I want a command, an addon, anything that changes the default color of a specific skin. Can anyone help?

There is no mod or vanilla command that allows for that in normal singleplayer to my knowledge.
You can however host a server yourself and your default character options for multiplayer will be used then. You also have the ability to host local servers without any fiddling. Just pick the option in the multiplayer menu.

But my progress won't be saved by a normal SP savefile, I assume. Even if it did, I'm not pretty sure how to host.

As I said, there is Xmomentum. That mod is an enormous package of different scripts. There must be a way to decompile the skincolor part from it, and change the value of the skincolor. Or maybe the default color for a skin is determined by a single file in the vanilla game and all you need to do is change it. After all, the game is open-source. It must be there somewhere.

I gave you instructions on how to host.

I never said it was impossible.
I said there weren’t any pre-existing mods with the functionality you want. It’s very possible. In fact, you might be able to make it yourself if you refer to the wiki.

I really got no time and ability to write code at all, so... if anyone that finds this discussion thread and has Scripting Experience feels like doing it, I really feel like this functionality would result in a great addon.
