I'll bet you think Duke Nukem Forever is also dead :P
I've been meaning to come out with a sequel to my game PixelShips since 2001. Now my release date for the sequel is late 2005...
Making games takes a long time. For me because I work alone. For the SRB2 guys because SRB2 is a very complex game for such a small group of people and there's a lot of issues to fix and play testing to do.
SRB2 isn't dead until everyone invloved with the game disappears from this forum.
The only time you're allowed to assume SRB2 is dead is when we say it is.
No, seriously. If, at any time, you're wondering what's going on with SRB2, and you've heard nothing from us, every single time that's happened, we've still been working on it. Gemini hit the nail on the head. For a game this large, it takes a LOT of work.
This question surprises me, because I'm pretty sure there were longer delays between earlier demos. I guess the community was kept more up to date on the pace of progress.
No, SRB2 is far from dead. I would not visit the forum every day if I wasn't still programming it.
