Is OpenGL supposed to be that... terrible?

I've tried SRB2's OpenGL mode, but it doesn't seem to be all that great, like everyone makes it out to be. All it ever does, at least on my computer, is give the game crazy lag (and I mean the type of lag you get when a 56k user joins a netgame) and the entire game takes on a bluish tint. It seems as if the computer forgot how to display red. Is it supposed to do that? If not, how do I make it not do that?

Sounds like an issue with your graphics card. The lag is probably not going to be fixed without getting a whole new card. But for the blue, I think you can fix that in SRB2's options menu, and setting the gamma.

OpenGL is for people that have a halfway-decent graphics card. OGL mode runs a whole lot better than Software for me.

BLUEGREEN. OPENGL. IS. NOT. CAUSED. BY. GAMMA. SETTINGS!

Your card doesn't "like" OpenGL, hence the terrible frame rate and the lack of red. My last two graphics cards do it.

OpenGL, when it works, is 10,000 times better than Software. You realize how awful Software looks once you frequently use OpenGL.

Especially when you use Trilinear and Anistropic 16 :D
